Eligibility: Any Texan who meets the following TYHP requirements:

• 12-17 years of age
• Has completed Hunter Education Certification
• PRIOR TO SUBMITTING AN ESSAY- Must be able to attend the hunt with an accompanying parent or guardian during the period of December 26, 2010 (Sunday) through December 30, 2010 (Thursday). 
  

How: Submit a typed 500 or fewer word essay on hunting and how it has influenced you and/or your family and friends. Essays will be evaluated by an independent source. Each entry must either be e-mailed to TYHP (This e-mail address is being protected from spambots and you need JavaScript enabled to view it) or mailed to:

Details:

• Winner of the essay contest will be notified in early December.
• Winner must provide transportation to specified major airport in Texas.
• Air transportation is furnished: Depart from specified Texas airport on the morning of December 26, 2010 (Sunday) to New Mexico and return on December 30, 2010 (Thursday). 
• Transportation, meals, and lodging will be furnished in New Mexico, with the exception of the costs associated with transporting meat back to Texas. 
• Black powder rifle is available for loan to hunter.
